1 . ROLL CALL/CALL TO ORDER

Also present was Jack Corder, Director of Leisure Services and Barb
Kowall, Board Coordinator.
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Walt Zakaluzny moved to approve the Minutes of the July 11, 2013
regular meeting. , second by Debra Sapko.
The MOTION CARRIED 3-0-0.

3 . OLD BUSINESS
a. Christmas Light Decorating Contest
The Board reviewed and discussed the following for the Christmas
Decorating Contest:
a. Entry forms and deadline dates for entering
b. Deadline for displays to be set up for judging
C. Procedure for judging and awarding winners
d. Advertising with newspaper for event
e. Ideas and thoughts to add for next year' s contest
4 . NEW BUSINESS
a . Upcoming City Events
Mr. Corder informed the Board of the following upcoming events for the
City.

a. Fall Festival/Haunted Forest and Trunk or Treat at the YMCA
October 26th
b. 23rd Annual Christmas Parade on Dec. 14th
C. New event called "Banjos, Bikes and BBQ" . Will feature a state
sanctioned BBQ contest, poker run and music.
d. "First Friday Market" to start. on 1st Fridays of the month
November through April at Hawks Park
b. Department Update
Mr. Corder updated the Board on the following Dept. projects:
a. Re-use water being added to the medians on the U.S. 1 project
b. Two light poles being added to Hawks Park for additional light
during events
c. Solar lights being added to the walkway at Hawks Park from the
office to the soccer fields
d. Restrooms and concession completed at Hawks Park
e. Seven acres next to YMCA to be cleared for more parking at Hawks
Park events
f. JFK Assassination exhibit on display at Museum compliments of Mike
Visconti
g. County has awarded bid for bridge over 442 in the Rails to Trails
project
5 . MISCELLANEOUS
Mr. Zakaluzny asked about the First Friday Markets coming up and Mr.
Corder explained the venue for this year, which will include food,
beer, wine, vegetable vendor, crafts and music. Also being added this
year will be teams to participate in the Edgewater Olympics.
6. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7 :20 p.m.
