The first application was from Mr. Harold Brown requesting
a variance to build a garage on his property on Umbrella Drive.
(Mr. Lupinek arrived at the meeting).
The Secretary notified the Board that the request had been advertised,
the abutting property owners notified and the property posted. No
one at the meeting objected to this application.
Mr. Brown told the Board of his plans and answered various questions
from the individual Board members.
The Board _agreed to grant the variance_to come within JO fL. o_f
the North side lot line and within 25 ft. of the East property
line on Umbrella Drive. The vote was 5 to O.
The Board will notify the City Council of their decision for
final action by the Council.
The next application was from Mr. Robert Redding requesting a
61 fence (Special Excepti'on) for the purpose of enclosing a
storage area for a Boat Repair and Accessory Sales business.
The Secretary stated that the request had been ad~ertised, the
abutting property owners notified and the property posted. No one
appeared to object to this application.
Mr. Redding stated that he had not yet built the 900 sq. ft.
shop for his business. He wanted a fence to protect items stored
outside.
A memo from the Zoning Board referred to some change in 880 concerning
chain link fences but the Board could not find this change. There
was considerable discussion about the type of fence Mr. Redding could
build. The Board was willing to approve only the type of enclosure
specified on Page 87, B-3 Ordinance .880 and wanted the Building
Inspector reminded of the item "Buffers" on Pg. 88.
Based on a recommendation from the Zoning Board the Board approved
a Special Exception for outside storage with enclosure specified in
B-3, Page 87 of Ordinance 880. The vote was 5 to o. The Board
will notify the Citj Council of their decision for final action by
the Council. -
No one appeared to present the application from Kenneth May of
Coronado Paint Co. The Board voted to recess that application until
the next regular meeting of the Board of Adjustments, May 10, 1978.
The meeting was adjourned.
