BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS
WORKSHOP
JANUARY 7, 1975
Chairwoman Murphy called the workshop meeting of the Board of Adjustments
to order.
Mr. William Pease was given the floor, he explained that he has been to
this board before in regard to a variance, and then he went to the Zoning
Board for their recommendation. This went to the Council and the Council
has sent him back here to the Board of Adjustments.
He showed the members the plans that he has drawn up., and this was dis-
cussed with him thoroughly.
Mrs. Murphy asked if anyone feels that his building would cause some type
of hazard if he was given a variance to build five feet from the line.
There was no feeling of this.
Mrs. Nichols stated that the thing she would be very much against is that
flamable materials would be kept in this building.
Mr. Pease stated that there would be nothing flamable in this building at
all.
Mr. Pease explained that he got the permission and a recommendation from
the Zoning Board. Their recommendation was a five foot set back and the
City Manager was to o.k. the plans and then he was to be allowed to build,
however the City Manager did not want to take the responsibility for it
and he was sent to the Council, from there he was sent back to the Board
of Adjustments.
There was discussion about this area being zoned for a shopping center.
The tape was very unclear, however a note was written to the Council from
the Board of Adjustments asking that Mr. Pease be granted the variance of
a five foot setback, as recommended by the Zoning Board.
