CITY HALL CONFERENCE ROOM Special Meeting "Dangerous Dog" MINUTES ,CALL TO ORDER The special meeting was called to order by chairperson, Robin Hendricks, at 7: 13 PM in the City Hall Conference Room. ROLL CALL Members present were: Robin Hendricks, Donna Wagner, Liz Scarvarda, Dr. D. Van is, and Debrah Brazzell. Also present were: Legal Assistant Robin Matusick, Animal Control Senior Officer Brandi McNair, Animal Control Officer David Castetter, Fire Department Captain Steve Cousins, and Board Secretary Sue Griffiths. NEW BUSINESS DanQerOU5 DOQ Sampson Animal Control Officer Brandi McNair explained to the Board that an 18-month- old neutered pitt bull known as "Sampson", whom Donald Bond and Shannon McCraney own, attacked an eleven-year-old boy. The boy is the younger brother of co-owner Shannon McCraney. ACO McNair stated that she has personally had several complaints from citizens in the neighborhood in reference to Sampson being aggressive in the past and that his behavior seems to be progressively getting worse. Ms. McNair explained that the owner has recently been advised through his insurance company that his homeowners insurance will be cancelled if he keeps the dog. Ms. McNair stated that the owner Donald Bond states he will consider euthanization if the Board deems the dog as dangerous. After a brief discussion the following motion was made. Motion: Motion was made by Donna Wagner and seconded by Debbie Brazzell to deem Sampson as a dangerous dog, with notification to owner as such. Motion held unanimous. -- Q (,) ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Debbie Brazzell, seconded by Donna Wagner. Motion carried unanimous. The meeting was adjourned at 7:25 P.M. Next Regular Meeting to be held on October 18th, 2001.
