MINUTES

ROLL CALL/CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson, Robin Hendricks called the regular meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. in City Hall.
Members present were: Robin Hendricks, Donna Wagner, Liz Scarvarda, Dr. Vanis, and Bob
Schmitt. Also present were Animal Control Supervisor, Robin Feger, JoAnn Richard, Board
Secretary and Legal Assistant, Robin Wolf
Mr. and Mrs. John Bodien of 1032 Ruth Street, Edgewater were also present.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Donna Wagner made a motion with second by Bob Schmitt to approve the June 25, 1998 minutes.
Motion to approve was carried 5-0.
OLD BUSINESS
There was discussion regarding increasing administrative fees for City Licenses for local veterinarians.
A motion was made by Donna Wagner to increase the fees $2.00 with second by Liz Scarvarda.
Motion was carried 4-0 (Dr. Vanis abstained).
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. and Mrs. Bodien were present to make a complaint regarding a neighbor they believed to be
fostering puppies for profit. After discussion of the situation a motion was made by Bob Schmitt to
add a definition to the City Ordinance "Prohibiting Fostering for Profit" with second by Donna
Wagner. Motion carried 5-0.
There was discussion regarding the 1st Annual Pet Festival to go before the Council for approval.
After approval by the City Council there would be a need for volunteers. It was decided that Donna
Wagner would represent the Board for the occasion and the festival would be held October 24th from
8:00 a.m. to 1 :00 p.m.
