MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER
Chairwoman Donna Wagner called the special meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. in
the City Hall Conference Room.
ROLL CALL
Members present were: Chairwoman Donna Wagner, Karen Mason and Debrah
Brazzell. Also present were: Community Service Supervisor Angela DeSue, and
Board Secretary Shontella Jackson.
Absent were Dr. David Vanis and Elizabeth Dimascio.
Guest present was: Carl & Joyce Kaufman 2932 Silver Palm Dr., Edgewater, FL
and Don Bosworth 2715 Banyan Tree Dr., Edgewater, FL.
Ordinance ChanQes
After discussing concerns about the wording and need for updates to the
ordinances the following motions were made to be presented to the City Council
for approval at June 21, 2004 Council meeting.
Article I General Provisions Page 364
Section 5-2 Animal Under restraint
MOTION bv Debbie Brazzell. SECOND bv Karen Mason to remove the
wordina "and obedient to that Derson's commands or " to the definition
of animal under restraint MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 3-0.
To read as follows: An animal secured by a leash or lead and under the control
of a person physically capable of restraining the animal securely enclosed within
the real property limits of the owner's premises.

subsection (1) or (2) above.

Article V. Dangerous Dogs
Section 5-60 Dangerous dogs Page 396 Item H.
MOTION bv Karen Mason. SECOND bv Debbie Brazzell to remove the
entire oaraaraoh "(h) Huntina doas are exemot from the orovisions of
this section when enaaaed in any leaal hunt or trainina orocedure.
Doas enaaaed in trainina or exhibitina in leaal soorts such as
obedience trails. conformation shows. field trials, huntina/retrievina
trials. and herdina trials are exemot from the orovisions of this section
when enaaaed in any leaal orocedures. However. such doas at all
other times in all other resoects shall be subiect to the orovisions of
this chaoter. Doas that have been classified as danaerous shall not be
used for huntina ourooses." from Article V. Danaerous Doas. MOTION
CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY 3-0.
Board members agreed with mailing proposed ordinance changes to members
along with a verification sheet attached for each member to initial. Once
verification sheet has been return I will submit an agenda request for changes to
Council.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Page 3
Mr. Kaufman requested information regarding birds/parrots in his neighbor. The
Board had a brief discussion to animals being a nuisance and compliant
procedure for the Animal Control Officer. Mr. Bosworth recommends that the
City provide or/and make information more accessible to the citizens of
Edgewater.
