A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING AND ADOPTING
THE ELECTION RESULTS OF THE MARCH 15, 2016
REFERENDUM #1 GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND (GO
for PARKS) WHICH WERE HELD ON THE
PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE PRIMARY ELECTION;
PROVIDING FOR INTENT AND PURPOSE OF
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH and PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on March 15, 2016, a Presidential Preference Primary Election was held
within the City of Edgewater for determination of Referendum #1 General Obligation Bond
("GO for Parks").
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, has determined that all
votes have been tabulated and confirmed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The City Referendum #1 General Obligation Gond (GO for Parks) which was
held on the Presidential Preference Primary Election on March 15, 2016; received the number of
votes as set forth below:

Against 1,861
Section 2. Acceptance and Adoption of Election Results. The results of the
REFERENDUM #1 General Obligation Bond (GO for Parks) held on the March 15, 2016
Presidential Preference Primary Election are hereby accepted and adopted by the City Council.
Section 3. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of
this Resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent

jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and
such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion hereto.
Section 4. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
passage and adoption.

Chair, County of Volusia, and ANN McFALL, Supervisor of
Elections, constituting the Board of County Canvassers in and for said County, do hereby certify that we
met on the 25th day of March, 2016 and proceeded publically to canvass the votes given for the City of
Edgewater Debt Referendum specified at the Election held on the 15th day of March, 2016 as shown by
the returns on file in the office of the Supervisor of Elections.
We do hereby certify from said returns as follows:
For General Obligation Bond, Note, or Other Indebtedness for Improvements to City
Recreation Facilities and Parks. The whole number of vote cast was 4,460 of which number:
For Bonds received 2,599 votes
Against Bonds received 1,861 votes
We certify that pursuant to Section 102.112, Florida Statute, the canvassing board has compared the
number of persons who voted with the number of ballots counted and that the certification includes all
valid votes cast in the election.
