2016-R-14RESOLUTION 2016-R-14 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING AND ADOPTING THE ELECTION RESULTS OF THE MARCH 15, 2016 REFERENDUM #1 GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND (GO for PARKS) WHICH WERE HELD ON THE PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE PRIMARY ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR INTENT AND PURPOSE OF RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH and PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on March 15, 2016, a Presidential Preference Primary Election was held within the City of Edgewater for determination of Referendum #1 General Obligation Bond ("GO for Parks"). WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, has determined that all votes have been tabulated and confirmed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, as follows: Section 1. The City Referendum #1 General Obligation Gond (GO for Parks) which was held on the Presidential Preference Primary Election on March 15, 2016; received the number of votes as set forth below: REFERENDUM #1 General Obligation Bond ("GO for Parks") For 2,599 Against 1,861 Section 2. Acceptance and Adoption of Election Results. The results of the REFERENDUM #1 General Obligation Bond (GO for Parks) held on the March 15, 2016 Presidential Preference Primary Election are hereby accepted and adopted by the City Council. Section 3. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent 1 Resolution #2016-R-14 jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion hereto. Section 4. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 5. Effective Date.
