NEW BUSINESS Introduction/2 New Members Mr. Seifert introduced the two new members, Giattino, to the rest of the Committee. Lisa Weber and Paul Zone 2 Selection for January Beautification Award The Committee tabulated the selections for the January award and the winning address was 1014 Riverside Drive. Mr. Giattino will notify the winner and deliver the award sign. Mrs. Geiger stated that the February award is going to a business and the voting on that will be at the next meeting and members should also bring their selections for Zone 3. OLD BUSINESS Donation Cans Project The Committee looked through the labels .with the Beautification Slogan on them that the third graders at the Elementary School had decorated for the purpose of wrapping the donation cans. Each member chose five labels and agreed to decorate them and keep track of the businesses they chose to place them in. The Committee was really pleased with the job that the children had done decorating the labels and Mr. Loomis suggested hanging the pictures that weren't used in the store windows where the cans would be put or perhaps at the Elementary School or the Edgewater Library. The members agreed to ask the businesses they approached if they would hang up some of the pictures in their wind~ws and Mrs. Geiger agreed to ask the Library. Mrs. Geiger noted that Arbor Day was January 19th and it would be a good idea for the Committee to plant a tree for the occasion, and maybe the Library would be a good choice. Mrs. Geiger agreed to check with the Library and the City about this idea. Mrs. Geiger noted that the new slogan for the Beautification Committee had not been put on the Edgewater-Gram on the back of the water bills and the secretary agreed to arrange with the utilities Department for this to be done. Mrs. Geiger thanked Jennifer Halperin from the News Journal for the press coverage given to the Committee on the award and sign donation from Brewer Printing. v <) .
