CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Schmidt called the Workshop to order at 6:03 p.m. in the
Community Center.

MEETING PURPOSE
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss potential annexations
and growth to the South.
City Manager Hooper made a staff presentation regarding the
City's current plans for annexation and growth to the South.
City Manager Hooper answered questions presented by the Council
and the Planning and Zoning Board members.
Mayor Schmidt suggested meeting with St. John's River Water
Management District to find out what they could see as headaches
with the old PreStressed Concrete facility with regard to
converting this to a marina. Mr. Howard spoke of the water
quality being an issue. City Manager Hooper spoke of the
permitting process being complicated.

There was a brief discussion regarding neither the City or County
being interested in a partnership to establish a reasonable
waterfront park for part of the parcel and convert the rest to
commercial.
City Manager Hooper spoke of what he believes should be developed
on the property.
Tim Howard presented his potential plans regarding property he
would like to purchase and what he would like to do with regard
to developing the property and answered questions asked by the
Council and the Planning and Zoning Board members.
There was a brief discussion regarding there being five parcels
that have to annex into the City before Mr. Howard could annex
the property he is purchasing into the City.
City Manager Hooper continued to answer questions presented by
Council and the Planning and Zoning Board members.
There was a lengthy discussion regarding water usage, water
conservation and the City's consumptive use permit.
Mayor Schmidt asked Mr. Howard to present an update on his plans
for Edgewater Lakes, which he did at this time. They are
planning on breaking ground on or before August 1st. They have
all of the lots in Phase I basically pre-sold.
There was a discussion regarding traffic increasing as more
property is annexed into the City and growth occurs.
There was then a discussion regarding the need for another north-
south corridor, possibly by extending Williamson Boulevard.
Mayor Schmidt asked if anyone would like to speak.
The following citizen spoke:

There was a brief discussion about S.R. 442 with regard to S.R.
442 Corridor Standards in relation to beautification, the
medians, the setbacks and the landscaping. They will have a
joint presentation in August at the latest.

City Manager Hooper stated he would put on the agenda for the
July 7th meeting some kind of question about if they want to go
in and purchase that property.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, Mayor Schmidt
adjourned the meeting at 7:25 p.m.
