CITY COUNCIL OF EDGEWATER
SPECIAL MEETING
JUNE 8, 1983
MINUTES
Mayor David Ledbetter called the Special Meeting to order at 3:45 P.M. in the Community
Center. The purpose of the meeting was to clarify the motion made at the June 6, 1983
Regular Meeting of Council regarding the Fire Department's request to purchase Fireworks.

Mayor Ledbetter stated the Fire Department was requesting $2,000.00 and Council had
approved $1,000.00 due to a misunderstanding of the total amount requested.
Councilman Spencer moved that Council approve the $2,000.00 requested by the Fire Department
for the purchase of fireworks. Councilwoman Bennington seconded the motion. Motion
CARRIED 4-0.
Mayor Ledbetter stated that at noon this date they had to close Menard Beach due to an
alligator about 8 or 9 foot long in that area, and since a member of the press was in the
audience, he wanted her to be aware of this.
Councilman Spencer moved to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Asting seconded the motion.
Meeting was adjourned at 3:50 P.M.
