04-14-1981 - Workshop u o CITY OF EDGEWATER CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP April 14, 1981 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Robert H. Christy call the workshop meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater to order at 2:00 PM in the conference room. ROLL CALL Mayor Robert H. Blazi Police Chief Earl Baugh Present Present Excused Present Present Late Present Present The purpose of this workshop was to discuss applications received for membership on the Code Enforcement Board. It was noted that the board should consist of 6 members with 1 alternate member and be made up preferably of: Realtor, Businessman, Engineer, General Contractor, Sub-Contractor, and Architect. After some dis- cussion it was felt that the position of architect would not be possible to fill. A general discussion ensued regarding the merits of individual parties who had expressed an interest in being appointed to the Code Enforce- ment Board. The following names were suggested for further serious consideration: Russell Prater - Businessman; John Zeller - Engineer; Phillip Williams - Businessman; Charles Hamel - Businessman; Lois Kane - Realtor; Frank Richardson - Engineer. Upon his arrival, City Attorney Henderson suggested that all serIOUS applicants should submit a complete resume and several local character references in order that the Council could better make their decision. City Clerk Nancy Blazi was directed to write a letter to the 10 parties under consideration requesting a complete resume with refer- ences. Police Chief Baugh volunteered to hand deliver same in order that responses could be received back at City Hall prior to the next regular meeting of the City Council on April 20, 1981. A further workshop meeting to discuss the responses from the above- referenced letters will be held April 20, 1981 at 2:00 PM in the conference room. Councilman Pendleton made a motion to adjourn.
