10-24-1984 - Special U (J CITY COUNCIL OF EDGEWATER SPECIAL MEETING OCTOBER 24, 1984 MINUTES Mayor Ledbetter called the Special Meeting to order at 4:00 PM in the Community Center. ROLL CALL Mayor David Ledbetter Councilman Melbourne Wargo Councilwoman Gigi Bennington Councilman Neil Asting Present Excused Present Present Councilman Jack Spencer Present City Attorney Josel Alvarez Excused City Clerk Connie Kinsey Present Pol ice Chief Douglas Betts Arrived Later Mayor Ledbetter stated that the first item on the agenda was to declare the results of the primary election held October 23, 1984. City Clerk Kinsey read the totals from the envelopes received from the election workers and Mayor Ledbetter confirmed that the totals agreed with those in his envelopes for both Precincts 24 and 24A. Councilman Asting questioned the amount for John Wilbur and Mayor Ledbetter stated it was 229. Chief Betts arrived at the meeting at this time, 4:04 P.M. RES. 84-R-52 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE PRIMARY ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, ON OCTOBER 23, 1984; REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. City Clerk Kinsey read the Resolution, which 1 isted all the candidates names and total votes received. Councilwoman Bennington moved to adopt Resolution 84-R-52. Councilman Asting seconded the motion. Motion CARRIED 4-0. Mayor Ledbetter stated the second item on the agenda was to declare candidates for the general election to be held November 6, 1984. RES. 84-R-53 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE CANDIDATES FOR ELECTION FOR MAYOR AND COUNCIL SEATS FOR ZONES 1, 2, 3, AND 4 IN THE CITY OF EDGE- WATER, FLORIDA, FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 6, 1984; REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. City Clerk Kinsey read the Resolution which 1 isted all the candidates for the general election to be held November 6, 1984. Councilman Spencer moved that Council adopt Resolution 84-R-53. Councilwoman Bennington seconded the motion. Motion CARRIED 4-0. Councilman Asting moved to adjourn the meeting. Councilwoman Bennington seconded the motion. Meeting was adjourned at 4:09 P.M.
