The regularly scheduled City Council meeting will immediately follow.
1. CALL TO ORDER and ROLL CALL
Present: 5- Mayor Mike Ignasiak,Councilwoman Gigi Bennington,Councilman Gary Conroy,
Councilman Dan Blazi,and Councilwoman Christine Power

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
a. AR-2016-2215 Regular Meeting-July 18,2016
A motion was made by Councilwoman Bennington, second by Councilwoman Power, to
adopt the minutes from the Regular Meeting - July 18, 2016. The MOTION was
APPROVED by the following vote:

b. AR-2016-2216 Regular Meeting-August 1,2016
A motion was made by Councilman Blazi, second by Councilwoman Power, to approve
the minutes from the Regular Meeting - August 1, 2016. The MOTION was APPROVED

4. PUBLIC HEARINGS,ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS
a. 2016-R-40 Resolution No. 2016-R-40- Accepting and Adopting the election results of the
November 8,2016 General Election and Referendum
A motion was made by Councilman Blazi, second by Councilwoman Power, to approve
Resolution No. 2016-R-40- Accepting and Adopting the election results of the November
8, 2016 General Election and Referendum. The MOTION was APPROVED by the
following vote:

Councilwoman Power
5. PRESENTATIONS/PROCLAMATIONSIPLAQUES/CERTIFICATES/DONATIONS
City Manager Tracey Barlow gave a presentation honoring Councilwoman Gigi Bennington for her
accomplishments she was a part of while on Council. She served 14 years total, but will touch on the
last term of 9 years.
City of Edgewater accomplishments within the last 9 years:
*Reduced tax burden on residential properties by 3.03%
*Reduced vacant properties
*Increased industrial property use
*Increased commercial properties by 3.59%
*Annexed 700 acres into City of Edgewater
*Reduced the General Fund Debt$5.2 million

*Reduced the Enterprise Debt by$14.5 million
* Updated City Seal
*First City to Adopt the Environmental Core Overlay Map
*Renovations of City Hall
*Construction of the voter approved Animal Shelter
*Improvements to existing Public Works Facility with addition of Collections Work Crew Building
*Renovation of Break Room for Public Works
*$6.7 million Wastewater Treatment Plant Renewal and Replacement through the SRF
* Addition of million gallon ground storage tank pumping station with over $1 million of Federal
Grants
*Addition of 4 water wells
*Elimination of septic tanks and paving on Thomas Street
*Stormwater project on Munson Drive which improved the stormwater
* The YMCA expansion and improvements, including children's playground
*Hawk's Park Amphitheater, Baseball,Soccer Field Improvements
* The second community in the state of Florida to be considered a Blue Way Paddling Community
*Kennedy Park Renovations including adding boardwalk, improved boat ramps&paved parking lot
*Rotary Park Renovations and Dog Park
*Increased community events, including partnership with Amvets and Pearl Harbor Remembrance
*Addition of two K-9 units, the first in the City of Edgewater
*Rebuild of Firestation 55, also a Grant Project
* One oft cities in Volusia County allowed to do EMS Transport and provide superior service
*Purchase of 2 additional ambulances
*Addition of more sidewalks on 30th Street and start of sidewalks in Florida Shores Subdivision
*Ridgewood Sidewalk and Landscape Improvement Grant
*Partnership with Volusia County on the Park Ave and Mission Rd Intersection widening
*Partnership with Volusia County on the Rail Trail
*2008 Visioning Session planted seeds for what the community wants the city to look like
*Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy
*Edgewater's First Community Redevelopment Agency
*City Hall Fund for a future City Hall
*Development of Regional Impact west of 1-95
*Community Development District at Deering Park
*Adoption of Ridgewood Overlay Standards
*Almost 400,000 square feet of new Commercial and Redevelopment in the Community
*Extension of Parktowne Boulevard and Northwest Lineman College
*Planning and land purchase of the new Public Works Site
*Basic planning for the Gateway Park, hoping to be under construction by September 2017
On behalf of City Council, City Staff City of Edgewater, thank you for helping make Edgewater a
better place to live, work and play.
Mayor Ignasiak read a Proclamation for Councilwoman Bennington.
Councilwoman Bennington thanked everyone and stated that all of those accomplishments couldn't
have been achieved without the City staff and City Council and to keep supporting them, because

without that support, the City can't move forward. She also said it was a pleasure and an honor to
serve.
6. SWEARING IN NEW COUNCIL MEMBERS
The Honorable Judge Shirley Green administered the Oaths of Office for:
1)Amy Vogt, Councilwoman District 2
2) Gary T. Conroy, Councilman District 4
7. ADJOURN •
