MINUTES
ROLL CALL/CALL TO ORDER
The Chairman, Tom Tipton called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.
Members Present: Tom Tipton, Kat Bearsley, Mike Visconti, Jo Hagan and Diane Trout
Member Excused: Joe Fishback
Also present was Adelaide Carter, liaison from the Economic Development Board and
Jack Corder, Director of Leisure Services.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Visconti moved to approve the Minutes of the Aue:ust 14. 2003 meetine:.
seconded bv Kat Bearslev. MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
OLD BUSINESS
The Board discussed the Chamber of Commerce's entrance signs for the City, located at
the back gate of Edgewater Landing on u.S. 1 and the north entrance sign to the city on
U.S. 1. Over the past two years, these signs have been in disrepair and the Chamber
agreed to have the signs repainted. At present the signs are still in disrepair. The Board
discussed the signs which are being planned for the Boulevard and 1-95 entrance, when
the work is completed there. Everyone agreed the nautical theme planned for those was
excellent.
Mrs. Hae:an moved to send a memo to Council. askine: that the two sie:ns in disrepair
to the City's entrance be removed and replaced with the current theme beinS!
planned for the Boulevard and 1-95 entrance sie:ns. Mrs. Bearslev seconded the
motion and it CARRIED 5-0.
Councilman Brown arrived at the meeting at this time.
NEW BUSINESS
November Beautification Award
Among the nominations for the residential beautification award, the winner was 511 N.
Riverside Drive. The Board also discussed some local businesses doing a great job and

Mrs. Trout moved to add the Shiny Brite Car Wash as a winner for the business
award. Mrs. Hae:an seconded the motion and it CARRIED 5-0.
Upcoming Christmas Parade
Mr. Corder stated the Christmas Parade would once again be staging at the Edgewater
Elementary School on December 13th and proceeding down Old County Road to Park
Avenue, and west to Rotary Park. Board members were encouraged to participate.
Proiect Update
Mr. Corder stated we were out for bids on the lights and restrooms at the new ballfields
and would be bidding soon for the fishing pier at Kennedy Park. He said permits were
being sought for the nature trail and amphitheater at Hawks Park and should be back by
January.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business Mr. Visconti moved to adiourn. seconded by Mrs.
Bearsley. Motion CARRIED 5-0.
