CITYOFEDGEWATER RECREA TION/CULTURAL SERVICES BOARD NOVEMBER 11, 2004 6:30 PM EDGEW A TER CITY HALL CONFERENCE ROOM MINUTES ROLL CALL/CALL TO ORDER Members present were Mike Visconti, Tom Tipton, Jo Hagan, Kat Bearsley and Diane Trout. Also present was Jack Corder, Director of Leisure Services and Nora Aly, liaison from the Economic Development Board. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Visconti moved to approve the Minutes of the June 10.2004 meeting and Mrs. Hagan seconded the motion. Motion CARRIED 5-0. OLD BUSINESS Mrs. Hagan asked about the replacement of the "Welcome to Edgewater" signs at the city entrances and Mr. Corder stated the Council had appropriated funds and they would be replaced. NEW BUSINESS Hurricane Damage Mr. Corder stated we lost the Shuflleboard Clubhouse in the hurricanes and it was demolished. He said it would be relocated to another spot, and we may be talking with New Smyrna about possible regional courts. There was also damage to the seawall at Kennedy Park and the whole pier had to be replaced at Veterans and Menard Parks. Whistle Stop, Rotary and Edgewater Ballfields suffered concession and roof damage. Rotary Park had the worst tree damage. Update on Proiects Mr. Corder stated the floor for the amphitheater has been poured and some sidewalk and the sod would be done the next week. He noted the Christmas Parade was scheduled for December 11th, followed that afternoon by the Holiday Concert in the Park at Hawks Park. On January 22, 2005, there will be a grand opening for the amphitheater, new ballfields and trail at Hawks Park. There will be arts and crafts, a petting zoo for the kids, a celebrity softball game and lots of food. The YMCA will also have open swimming at the pool and a pancake breakfast in the morning. '-' ...., MISCELLANEOUS Mr. Corder stated there was a company doing a historical document of the history of New Smyrna and they were asking for a letter of support from Edgewater's Recreation Board. Mr. Tipton moved to submit a letter of support for the documentary. providing Edgewater was to be included in the film. Mrs. Trout seconded the motion and it CARRIED 5-0.
