01-13-2005 '-' ....", CITYOFEDGEWATER RECREA TION/CULTURAL SERVICES BOARD JANUARY 13, 2005 6:30 PM LEISURE SERVICES OFFICE, 1108 S. RIDGEWOOD AVE. MINUTES ROLL CALUCALL TO ORDER Members present were Tom Tipton, Diane Trout, Joe Fishback, Mike Visconti and Kat Bearsley. Also present was Jack Corder, Director of Leisure Services. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Visconti moved to approve the Minutes of the November 11. 2004 meetine and Mrs. Bearslev seconded the Motion. Motion CARRIED 5-0. OLD BUSINESS There were no Old Business items discussed. NEW BUSINESS Tour of Amphitheater and Trails at Hawks Park Mr. Corder gave the Board members a tour of the trails, the new ballfield complex and amphitheater. He noted the amphitheater has 600 amp electric, 2 retention areas and fountains and measures about 50 x 62 feet. He stated his department has applied for an ECHO grant to help defray the cost of adding a cover to the amphitheater at a future date. He showed the members the ballfield complex which consists of 4 new ballfields, a concession building and restrooms. The new concrete path connects the ballfields to the Leisure Services office and extends around the YMCA by the Scrub Jay Habitat area. Along the trails, he pointed out the nature plaques which indicate what sort of native plants are growing in the area. This project of the signage was completed for an Eagle Scout project by Zeb Long. The Board congratulated Mr. Corder and his department on the new park, ballfields, trails and amphitheater and the timeliness in which it was completed. Update on Proiects Mr. Corder stated the beautification project on S.R. 442 should be started in February and if all goes well, should be finished in July. '-' ..""" MISCELLANEOUS Mr. Corder discussed with the Board the possibility of applying for a 501 3-C, which would aid in applying for grants. The Board will discuss this further at the next meeting.
