Mayor Christy called the Workshop to order at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday,
August 21, 1979 in the Mayor's Office. The purpose of the Workshop
was to interview applicants for the position of City Clerk.

The Council interviewed the following applicants:

Mr. Herget
Mr. Austin
Mr. Miller had originally applied for the position of City Planner.
He has recently graduated from college with a degree in Business
Administration and a number of courses in urban studies.
The Council questioned Mr. Miller concerning his education and
any experience he might have had that would be related to the
position of City Clerk.
Mr. Herget had recently retired from the Marine Corps. He served
in administration for 20 years. The Council questioned Mr. Herget

Mr. Austin had recently retired from the Air Force. He also had some
administrative background. The Council questioned Mr. Austin
in regard to his previous experience and any knowledqe he miqht have
of municipal governments.'
The Council also considered the application of Mrs. Woods. She was
not present for the interview.
Councilman Ledbetter suggested that possibly the Council might want to
consider Mrs. Betty Crouser, a former Deputy City Clerk of Edgewater.
The workshop was adjourned.
