Q /rl\-. l.::}u.J\ ;.,. , ~\ o ~()J~, CITY OF EDGEWATER CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING March 27, 1980 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Christy called the special meeting to order at 4:00 P.M. in the City Hall. The Special Meeting was called for the purpose of considering the transmittal of the proposed Comprehensive Plan to local, County and State agencies also to consider the purchase of a trash pump. Herget Police Chief Earl Baugh Present Present Present Present Present Present Present Present Council discussed sending copies of proposed Comprehensive Plan to various agencies for review and comment. City Planner Patrick Hurley told the Council that this was the next step in the procedure set by the State prior to final adoption by the City Council. The agencies have 60 days to review the proposed plan and submittal of comments by these agencies to the City. The Council has the option of accepting or rejecting any comments made by the agencies. Councilman Rotundo made a motion that the Council send the proposed Comprehen- sive Plan to the designated state and local agencies. Councilman Glaser seconded the motion. Upon roll call the motion CARRIED 5-0. Councilman Asting made a motion to set June 18, 1980 for a Public Hearing on the Comprehensive Plan. The Public Hearing will be held at 7:00 P.M. ln the Community Center. Councilman Rotundo seconded the motion. Upon roll call the motion CARRIED 5-0. Council requested that the discussion on the official zoning map be put on the agena for April 7, 1980. Council discussed the possible purchase of the trash pump. Mr. Earl Copeland, Supervisor of the Street Department, stated that his depart- ment had the money to purchase the pump and it would be useful to the Street Department. The City could purchase the pump they have been renting and the company would deduct the amount already spent by the City for rental from the purchase price. The price is $6,700 less $1,300 rental, leaving a balance of $5,400. City Attorney Woods a~ked if this pump was the only one that could b~ used for the job? Mr. Copeland said no other company made this pump. City Attorney Woods said Council should abide by purchasing ordinance and go out for bids. Councilman Ledbetter asked about the pump the City use to have? Mr. Copeland said that the motor burned out. Councilman Asting made a motion to go out for bids for a 6" trash pump. Bids should be back by 12:00 noon, April 21, 1980. They will be opened in the City Clerk's office and recieved by the Street Department Supervisor for recommendation and presentation to Council at the regular meeting at 7:00 P.M. April 21, 1980. Councilman Glaser seconded the motion. - 1 - r~ o o Councilman Asting amended the motion and added that the specs will be prepared by the Street Department Supervisor. Councilman Glaser seconded the amendment. Upon roll call the motion and the amendment CARRIED 5-0. Councilman Rotundo made a motion to rent the pump for one more week. Councilman Ledbetter seconded the motion. Upon roll call the motion CARRIED 5-0. Councilman Ledbetter mentioned the possibility of obtaining a small dredge. It was requested he get more information for Council. Councilman Glaser made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Rotundo seconded the motion.
