PRESENTATIONS - a. Bonnie Thurman, DSC Community Outreach & Transition Specialist for the DSC Center for Women and Men Bonnie Thurman, Community Outreach & Transition Specialist for the Women and Men Center Daytona State College, gave a presentation providing an overview of programs for adults seeking higher education. 4. PUBLIC COMMENTS None at this time. 5. REPORTS a. Planning and Zoning Board No representative from the Planning and Zoning board was present to report at this time. b. SEVCC No representative from the SEVCC board was present to report at this time. c. City Manager/ Economic Development/ Redevelopment Coordinator Economic Development/Redevelopment Coordinator, Samantha Bishop reported: SEVMI executive committee meeting and highlighted the recently modified mission and vision statement; Team Volusia presentation given to the executive committee; upcoming business luncheon hosted by the SEV Chamber to get feedback on how the SEV cities are doing and what they could do better; and Ribbon cutting at D.R. Horton and Jiffy Lube. City Manager, Tracey Barlow discussed, concerns regarding the Building Department, how business has been conducted, and asked Senior Planner Bonnie Brown to give a presentation on Development Services. Development Services Report Senior Planner Bonnie Brown, gave a presentation regarding the update of the Development Services, please see attached. After Ms. Brown's presentation, the board and staff discussed: lack of communication within the building department and contractors on what is required and needed up front; education of the Florida Building Code; and enhancing online services to assist contractors in completion of paperwork. 8. BOARD REPORTS Member Beck reported attending the SE. V. SWAT meeting and will report at the next board meeting. Vice Chair Barnett reported if Florida Roadhouse receives their Certificate of Occupancy they will have a closed trial run on February 11, 2017. Chair Jamison asked ifMr. Andrejkovics would like to share with the board this morning. Bob Andrejkovics, 331 Admiralty Ct., thanked the staff for their presentation this morning, discussed the importance of transparency regarding codes, and being proud to be the City of Edgewater. 9.
