Road Repairs:
Mayor Christy said the streets must be repaired. It will cost $8,865
for the pipe. He tried to get the money for storm damage from Hurricane
David. He even called the Governor, but there is no money available.
We would not qualify under any Federal funds for hurricane damage. We
can get the County bid for pipe (#79-B-216) at approximately $38 a foot.
Councilman Asting said we should figure in the cost of transportation.
There was a discussion about the need for this equipment for the Rescue
Squad.

The City Clerk said that we could use Federal Revenue money already
appropriated to the Street Department. However, this is an additional
expense that was not figured) into their regular budget. Possibly later
on this year, we may have e6 take Federal money from some other depart-
ment to make up for it. He suggested that it might be necessary to use
the money appropriated for a Hurst tool for the Rescue Squad.
Councilman Sikes made a motion to authorize the purchase, based on a
County bid for (12) 20' x 60" asphalt-coated pipes and (6) bands. The
purchase will not exceed $11,000 and will be based on the emergency
purchasing procedure.
Councilman Rotundo seconded the motion.

Wildwood Property:
Mayor Christy said he looked at this property and the man has a
flooding problem, due to the fact that the house next to him has been
built so high. He believes the Building Inspector should use better
judgment on the height of buildings in areas where this could cause a
similar problem. He also believes the Ordinance states the Building
Inspector could do this. He suggested a swale in the street and
perhaps a catch basin on the property that would drain into the canal.
Councilman Rotundo said that we need to get permission from the owner.
The Street Department will check into this and try to correct the
situation.
Council Comments:
The Councilmen remarked about Mr. Sikes term as a Councilman. All
wished him well in his future endeavors.
Mayor Christy gave Councilman Sikes a key to the City.
Councilman Sikes said he had enjoyed being a Councilman and hoped that

better City.
