The purpose of the Meeting was to hear presentation~ py three cQnsulti~g
engineering firms chosen by the Council as possible engineers for the
City.
The first presentation was by Briley Wild Associates of Ormond Beach,
Florida, the City's present consulting engineering firm. Mr. Harry
wild spoke to the Council and stated that Briley wild wished to with-
draw their proposal and that a letter terminating the contract with
the City would be sent later this week. Mr. wild cited past differences
with the City and stated that Briley wild felt it would be in the best
interest of the City to seek another firm, unless these differences
could be resolved.
All of the Council members at the meeting indicated that they have
been satisfied with Briley Wild's overall performance in the past.
There was only one member of the Council who seemed to be dissatisfied
with their services.
Vice Mayor Rotundo thanked Mr. Wild for talking with the Council.
The second presentation was made by Boyle Engineering Corporation of
Orlando, Florida by Mr. Donald A. Brown and Richard J. Coleman. They
indicated the firm is experienced and because of their specialization
in municipal engineering could aid the City in grant programs.
Vice Mayor Rotundo thanked the representatives and advised them they
would be notified of the City's decision.
The final presentation was made by Dawkins and Associates of Orlando,
Florida. Mr. Lowry Rockett, Frank Marshall and John Sikes, represen-
tatives of the company, made the presentation, consisting of slides
of the areas of Edgewater the company felt were prime targets for
improvement. The company would provide a liaison to work with the
City who lives in New Smyrna Beach and is familiar with the area.
Vice Mayor Rotundo thanked the representatives and advised them they
would be notified of the City's decision.
After the presentations a discussion followed concerning the three
engineering firms.
