AN ORDINANCE DEFINING EMERGENCY
VEHICLES AND EXEMPTING SAME FROM
PARKING RULES AND REGULATIONS WITH-
IN THE CITY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The City Council has determined upon the
recommendation of the Chief of Police that the following
should be deemed an emergency measure,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. "Emergency vehicles" shall be defined for the
purpose of this ordinance as those motor vehicles operating
within and licensed by the city which perform emergency ser-
vices, including police, fire, rescue, and state licensed
wreckers on the police rotation list* which are on call for
emergency service or duty within the city.
SECTION 2. Emergency vehicles as hereinabove defined
are exempted from the parking rules and regulations, including
ordinances and resolutions pertaining to parking, in effect
within the city while said vehicles are on call for duty or
emergency service within the city.
SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances and
all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith
be and same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. That this ordinance is deemed an emergency
ordinance and shall take effect upon approval by two-thirds
vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater and authentication
as provided by law.
