AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REVISING SECTION 2-32 OF
THE EDGEWATER CODE OF ORDINANCES RELATIVE TO LEGIS-
LATIVE PROCEDURE FOR THE CITY COUNCIL;PROVIDING
THAT ALL ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS, AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
SHALL BE APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY BY THE CITY
ATTORNEY PRIOR TO INTRODUCTION; FURTHER PROVIDING THAT
ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS SHALL BE ENACTED PURSUANT
TO STATE LAW; FURTHER PROVIDING THAT ALL ORDINANCES AND
RESOLUTIONS SHALL RELATE TO ONLY ONE SUBJECT MATTER
WHICH IS CLEARLY REFLECTED IN ITS TITLE; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES FOR PARTS OF ORDINANCES AND ALL RESOLUTIONS
OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PRO-
VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 2-32 of the Edgewater Code of Ordinances
is hereby amended to read:
SEC 2-32. Legislative procedure.
(a) Prior Approval: All ordinances, resolutions, or con -
`.tract documents shall be approved by the City Attorney
or his authorized representative prior to presentation
to the City Council.
(b) Ordinances, resolutions, and other matters or subjects
requiring action by the Council must be introduced and
sponsored by a member of the council, except that the
mayor may present ordinances, resolutions and other
matters or subjects to the council, and any councilman
may assume sponsorship thereof by moving that such
ordinances, resolutions, matters or subjects be ad-
opted; otherwise, they shall not be considered.
(c) No ordinance shall be enacted by the city council that
is not in accordance with section 166.041 of Florida
Statutes dealing with procedures for adoption of
ordinances and resolutions.
(d) No ordinance shall relate to more than one subject,
which shall be clearly expressed in its title, and no
ordinance, or section thereof, shall be amended or
repealed unless the new ordinance contains the title of
the ordinance or section amended or repealed, and
when practicable all ordinances shall be introduced as
amendments to existing ordinances or sections thereof.

SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances and re-
solutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith and be and
same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise
this Ordinance as required by law.
SECTION 9. That this Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption by the City Council and approval as provided by law.

passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida
at the regular meeting of said Council held on thej!�_day of
