A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGE -
WATER, FLORIDA, CALLING FOR A PRIMARY ELECTION AND A
GENERAL ELECTION FOR MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBERS ZONES 1,
2, 3 AND 4 TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA, ON OCTOBER 2, 1990 AND NOVEMBER 6, 1990
RESPECTIVELY; FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELECTING TWO
CANDIDATES OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL SEATS FOR ZONES 1, 2, 3
AND 4 AND FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A MAYOR AND
COUNCIL SEATS FOR ZONES 1, 2, 3 AND 4; DESIGNATING THE
VOTING PLACES FOR SAID ELECTIONS; DIRECTING THE CITY
CLERK TO PUBLISH THE RESOLUTION; REPEALING ALL
RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City Council issue a
proclamation calling any primary, general or special election,
stating therein where the same shall be held, and naming the dif-
ferent offices to be filled.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the City of Edgewater shall hold a pri-
mary election on Tuesday, October 2, 1990, if three (3) or more
candidates file for the office of Mayor or Councilmember for any
or all of Zones 1, 2, 3 and 4.
SECTION 2. That the City of Edgewater shall hold a Gener-
al Election for Mayor and Councilmembers for Zones 1, 2, 3 and 4
on Tuesday, November 6, 1990.
SECTION 3. That the primary election and general election
shall be held in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida
for the conduct of elections.
SECTION 4. That the time for qualifying for each of the
Groups listed above shall be from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. from
Friday, September 7, 1990 through Friday, September 14, 1990,
Saturdays and Sundays excluded.
SECTION 5. The purpose of said primary election shall be
to select two candidates needed for Zones 1, 2, 3 4, and Mayor
for the City of Edgewater, Florida.
SECTION 6. The purpose of said general election shall be
to elect a Council seat from Zone 1, 2, 3, 4 and Mayor for the
City of Edgewater, Florida.
SECTION 7. The voting places for the primary and general
elections shall be at the Edgewater Shuffleboard Club House, 103
North Riverside Drive for Precinct 24; the Edgewater Public Li-
brary, 103 Indian River Boulevard, for Precinct 24A; Fire Station
No. 1, 1605 S. Ridgewood Avenue for Precinct 24B; Fire Station
No, 2, 605 Mango Tree Drive for Precinct 24C and the Florida
Shores Clubhouse, 2932 Lime Tree Drive for Precinct 24D, between
the hours of 7:00 a.m, until 7:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.
SECTION 8. The City Clerk shall send a copy of this Reso-
lution to the Supervisor of Elections, Volusia County, Florida,
as Notice of Elections set forth herein and shall publish and
Post this Resolution as required by law.
SECTION 9. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions
in conflict herewith, be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 10. That this resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Edge-
water, Florida, and approval as provided by law.
This Resolution was introduced and sponsored by Councilman
Fish , and was read and passed by a vote of the City Coun-
cil of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a Regular meet-
ing of said Council held on the 20 day of August
1990, and approved as provided by law.
