RESOLUTION NO. 83-R- 36
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, PURSUANT TO PART I,
SECTION 13, OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, APPOINTING VICE -MAYOR DAVID C.
LEDBETTER TO SUCCEED TO THE OFFICE OF MAYOR,
EFFECTIVE 4:45 P.M., APRIL 22, 1983, AND TO
FILL SAID VACANCY FOR THE BALANCE OF THE TERM
OF OFFICE; REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CON-
FLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, by virtue of the resignation of Mayor
Richard McKillop, the office of Mayor became vacant as of
4:45 p.m. April 22, 1983.
WHEREAS, Part 1, Section 13, of the Charter of the
City of Edgewater mandates that upon a vacancy for any rea-
son of the office of Mayor, the Vice -Mayor shall become
the Mayor.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That effective 4:45 p.m. April 22, 1983,
Vice Mayor David C. Ledbetter hereby succeeds Mayor Richard
McKillop to the office of Mayor for the balance of the term
of said office with all the duties, powers and responsibili-
ties appurtenant thereto.
Section 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolu-
tions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and
approval as provided by law.
The first reading of the Resolution was read in full
and passed by a vote of the City Council of the City of
Edgewater, Florida, at ��� meeting of said Council
held on the day of 1983, and approved
as provided by law.
