81-R-23RESOLUTION NO.81-R-23 A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE BUILDING OFFICIAL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLOR- IDA AS THE LOCAL ENFORCEMENT AGENCY AS DEFINED BY THE FLORIDA THERMAL EFFECIENCY CODE, DIRECTING SAID OFFICIAL TO FULLY COMPLY WITH THE FLORIDA MODEL ENERGY EFFECIENCY CODE; REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, The Legislature of the State of Florida has mandated the implemenation of the Florida Model Energy Efficiency Code as part of the Florida Thermal Effeciancy Act, recognizing that consistent statewide energy conservation goals are consistent with the public health, safety, and general welfare of our citizens, and WHEREAS, the City of Edgewater, Florida, must adopt said code by designating a local enforcement agency to insure compliance with the uniform statewide standards, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That the building official of the city of Edgewater, Florida, is hereby designated as the local enforcement agency of said City, as defined by the Florida Thermal Effeciancy Code, and said official shall insure that the Florida Model Energy Efficiency Code shall be adhered to within the municipality for all applicable construction commencing after October 1, 1980. SECTION 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and same are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and approval as provided by law. The Resolution was introduced by Mr. L<-( �� -4)y" The first reading of the Resolution was read in full and passed by a vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewateer Florida at a regular meeting of said council held on the /6 day of February, 1981, and approved as provided by law.
