SEC.10-83 NEGLECTED PREMISES
(a) It shall be the duty of any person owning or controlling a house or other building or
premises to maintain such premises in a reasonably clean and orderly manner and to a
standard conforming to other orderly premises in that vicinity. It shall be a violation of this
section to abandon, neglect, or disregard the condition or appearance of any premises.
(b) Every exterior wall of every building shall be free of holes, breaks, loose or rotting boards,
or timbers. All siding material shall be kept in repair. Roofs shall be structurally sound and
maintained in a safe manner and have no defects.
(c) All portions of existing buildings, both interior and exterior, shall be maintained in such a
manner that structural strength, stability, sanitation, adequate light and indoor air quality. and
safety to life and property from fire and other hazards are provided for public safety. health,
and general welfare.
The residence needs to be clean, free of holes, rotten wood, structurally sound, free of
plant growth on it, no mold/fungus on exterior paint, etc. Your residence needs to
conform to the other residences surrounding your home. Please clean/repair your
residence.
Violation(s) must be corrected by: February 23, 2017
Please contact the code enforcement officer once the violation has been corrected.
Failure to comply with this notice of violation and take corrective
action set forth above by the date set forth above may result in
the issuance of a citation, which will include an applicable set

It is declared by the city council that grass, weeds, brush and undergrowth in excess of 12
inches which impair or may impair the economic welfare of the adjacent property, contribute to
a fire hazard and/or create a health hazard when any part of those growths are located on any
lot adjacent to the boundary of any developed lot is a property maintenance nuisance.
Please mow and maintain your entire property including any "weed-eating” needed.
SEC. 10-400 (3) Nuisance Waste/Yard Trash
It is declared by the city council that the accumulation of waste, yard trash, or rubble and
debris that may harbor rodents or snakes or that may contain pools of water that may serve as
breeding grounds for insects or other disease transmitters is a property maintenance nuisance.
It is your responsibility to contact the Code Enforcement Officer once the violation has been corrected.
Failure to comply with this notice and take corrective action or
request a hearing before the date set forth above will result in the
City of Edgewater correcting the property maintenance nuisance
and place a lien against the property for any and all cost incurred.
Sec. 10-402 Alternate method of enforcement—It shall be unlawful for any person owning property in the city to
allow a lot to exist in a property maintenance nuisance condition as described in article XXVIII. As an alternative
to the procedures of article XXVIII at the option of the code enforcement officer, violations of article XXVIII may be
enforced by article XXVII (Issuance of a citation, which will include an applicable set civil fine and may result in a
hearing. and subsequent assessment of a fine not to exceed $500.00 per day)or any other means available as
provided by the city ordinance or by law
