A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A POLICE
ESCORT FEE FOR FUNERAL PROCESSIONS ORIGINATING
WITHIN AND WITHOUT THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, SETTING A FEE FOR
PROVIDING SAID ESCORT, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE, REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HERE-
WITH.
WHEREAS, Police Escorts for funeral processions are some-
times required to prevent traffic congestion and hazards, and
WHEREAS, the burden of providing such protection should not
fall upon the taxpayers of the City of Edgewater, Florida.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the Police Department of the City of Edge-
water, Florida, shall provide a police escort for funeral proces-
sions originating within the City Limits, if so requested by a
licensed Funeral Director.
SECTION 2. That the charge for providing a police escort
for funeral processions originating within the City Limits shall
be a fee of Ten ($10.00) Dollars.
SECTION 3. That the Police Department of the City of Edge-
water, Florida, shall provide a police escort for funeral proces-
sions not originating within the City Limits, if so requested by
a licensed Funeral Director or a law enforcement agency.
SECTION 4. That the charge for providing a police escort
for funeral processions not originating within the City Limits
shall be a fee of Five ($5.00) Dollars.
SECTION 5. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions
and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 6. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption by the City Council and approval as provided by
law.
The first reading of the Resolution was read in full and
passed by a vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
