A number of building officials have requested building valuation data representiog average Costs for most buildings.
Unit costs are estimated as average and include plumbing, electrical and mechanical equipment. Special site Conditions,
architectural and structural features will require adjustments either over or under the average cost. Sgction 1 .5 of the
Standard Building Code should be considered when using this data.
These valuations are based on national averages and will naturally change from one day to the next.

The building valuation data above should be used in conjunction with the following modifiers. Choose the
type of
construction for the building and multiply the average cost per square foot by the modifier listed for the state.
Example: To adjust coat of a wood frame dwelling for the Florida area, select Regional Modifier 1.05 and average
unit cost per square foot from Building Valuation Data, 22.10. Multiplying, you obtain: 1.05 x $22.10 = $23.20, adjusted
cost per sq. ft. -
