79-R-92RESOLUTION NO. 79-R-92 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING GOVERNOR ROBERT GRAHAM'S VETO OF THE CABLE TV DEREGULATION BILL AND FURTHER VOICING OPPOSITION TO ANY LEGISLATION DIRECTED TOWARDS AN OVERRIDE OF SAID VETO; REPEALING ALL RESOLU- TIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Edgewater, Florida, wishes to support Governor Robert Graham's veto of House Bill 892, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That the City of Edgewater, Florida, hereby supports the action of Governor Robert Graham in his veto of House Bill 892, known as the Cable Television Deregulation Bill. SECTION 2. That the City of Edgewater, Florida, along with other cities, and/or organizations, affirmatively and actively supports the Governor's veto of the Cable TV Deregulation Bill and actively opposes any legislative action which would override said veto. SECTION 3. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to members of the Florida Senate and House of Representatives. SECTION 4. That all resolutions and parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby rescinded. SECTION 5. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and approval as provided by law.
