Glenn Powers, 2628 Yule Tree Dr: Discussed his gratitude for the support of Wreaths Across America. A motion was made by Councilman Conroy, second by Councilman Blazi, to approve the activity being put on by Barry Porter Entertainment for the Elvis Concert at Hawks Park for New Years and waive the fees for the Special Activity Fee and Rental of the park. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS Councilman Blazi reported: attending the ribbon cutting for the new trail connection, the Edgewater public schools 5k color run and the annual Christmas dinner for the citizens assisting police. Councilman Conroy reported: attending the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony. Visiting District 5 traffic operations to get a speed study completed on US-1 northbound of Roberts Rd. The goal is to try and get the speed limit reduced. Spoke with Development Services Director Darren Lear about the contaminated dirt pile behind 3000 India Palm. After speaking with DEP it is confirmed that the pile has now been disposed of correctly. Lastly the matter between Mr. Towsley and Mr. Hamilton was discussed. Mayor Ignasiak reported: attending the South East Volusia Chamber Installation and Awards dinner, the Brilliance assisted living facility ground breaking, the Rails to Trails ribbon cutting at Daytona State, the Edgewater Public School guest reader program, the Edgewater Rotary Club to honor an Edgewater employee and the AMVETS Pearl Harbor event. Councilwoman Power reported: attending the Boys and Girls Club fundraiser. Discussed Councils opinion on an upcoming vote at The TPO meeting about raising the local match to 25%as apposed to the current 10%. Councilwoman Vogt reported: attending the Rails to Trails ribbon cutting and the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony. As proud heirs to the freedom and progress secured by those who came before us, we pledge to uphold their legacy and honor their memory.
