87-R-164 RESOLUTION NO. 87-R-16 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 84-R-60 BY RESTRUCTURING THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CONFERRED UPON CORNELIA A. MARTINEZ, AS CITY ADMINISTRATOR, FOR THE CITY OF EDGEWATER BY DIRECTING THAT THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HANDLING AND DISPOSITION OF ALL THE WRITTEN COMMUNICATION RECEIVED IN THE CITY INCLUDING REQUESTS TO VACATE PUBLIC EASEMENTS OR RIGHT-OF-WAYS AND REFER SAME TO THE APPROPRIATE CITY DEPARTMENTS; BY DIRECTING THAT ALL REQUESTS FOR AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY CODE BE REVIEWED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR BEFORE BEING SUBMITTED FOR COUNCIL APPROVAL; AND BY DIRECTING THAT THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR EXERCISE ALL NECESSARY AND PROPER ACTS IN ORDER TO CONDUCT THE DAILY ADMINISTRATIVE AFFAIRS OF THE CITY; REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1.That the City Administrator be responsible for the handling and disposition of all written communication received in the City including requests to vacate public easements or right-of-ways and refer same to the appropriate City Department. SECTION 2. That the City Administrator review in conjunction with the necessary Department Heads all proposed amendments to the Code of Ordinances of the City before submitting same for Council approval. SECTION 3. That the City Administrator is hereby directed to implement in conjunction with the City Attorney the necessary administrative procedures to accomplish the objectives of the previous Sections of this Resolution. SECTION 4. That the City Administrator shall exercise all necessary and proper acts in order to conduct the daily administrative affairs of the City, as provided for in the City Charter and the Code of Ordinances of the City of Edgewater. SECTION S. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are repealed. SECTION 6. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 2nd day of March , 1987, and approved as provided by law.
