86-R-54RESOLUTION NO. 86-R-54 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING ITS OPPOSITION TO THE PROPOSED VOLUSIA COUNTY CHARTER AMENDMENTS NUMBERS 1, 2, 3, 4 AND 5; REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Volusia County Charter Review Commission has recommended the amendment of the Volusia County Charter, and WHEREAS, the amendments recommended relate to (1) abuse of the environment; (2) Volusia Growth Management Commission; (3) standards for environmental protection; (4) Beach Trust Commission, and (5) sale of bonds, and WHEREAS, said proposed amendments shall be submitted to the electors in a referendum election to be held November 4, 1986, and WHEREAS, the City Council feels that it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Edgewater, to express its position as more particularly set forth hereinafter. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, hereby expresses its opposition to the proposed Volusia County Charter Amend- ments Number 1, Number 2, Number3, Number 4 and Number 5. SECTION 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 3rd day of November , 1986, and approved as provided bylaw.
