A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, CONFIRMING AND RATIFYING THE
APPOINTMENT OF EDWARD JOSEPH OVERMAN AS THE CHIEF
OF POLICE FOR THE CITY OF EDGEWATER FOR A PERIOD
NOT TO EXCEED NINETY (90) DAYS, WITH ALL THE DUTIES
AND OBLIGATIONS VESTED IN THE OFFICE; REPEALING ALL
RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a
Special Meeting held on February 23, 1984, designated and approved Edward
Joseph Overman to be Chief of Police for the City of Edgewater for a
period not to exceed ninety (90) days.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Edward Joseph Overman is hereby designated and
appointed as Chief of Police for the City of Edgewater, Florida with all
the duties, rights, obligations and authorities vested in the office of
Chief of Police as set forth in the Charter and Code of Ordinances of
the City of Edgewater, and the laws and Constitution of the State of
Florida.
SECTION 2. That this appointment is not to exceed a term of
ninety (90) days from the date of adoption of this Resolution.
SECTION 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in con-
flict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida
at a meeting of said Council held on the a 7 46-
day of 3 ,vyg��, 1984, and approved as provided by
law.
