84-R-13RESOLUTION NO. 84-R-13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLORIDA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING A MEMBER OF THEIR POLICE DEPARTMENT TO SERVE AS CHIEF OF POLICE FOR THE CITY OF EDGEWATER ON A TEMPORARY BASIS; REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. .NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That the appropriate officials of the City of Edgewater, Florida, are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the City of Altamonte Springs, Florida for the purpose of providing a member of their Police Department to serve as Chief of Police for the City of Edgewater for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days. SECTION 2. Said agreement is attached hereto and by reference incorporated herein as is fully set forth. SECTION 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a meeting of said Council held on the a 9AIday of 1984, and approved as provided by law. No. 84-R-13 AGREEMENT �h t, This Agreement made and entered into this �� day of fe w ery�, 1984, by and between the City of Altamonte Springs, a municipal corporation of the State of Florida (hereafter Altamonte) and the City of Edgewater, a municipal corporation of the State of Florida (hereafter Edgewater). WHEREAS, Edgewater has requested Altamonte to assist Edgewater by providing a Chief of Police on a temporary basis; and WHEREAS, Altamonte has agreed to loan a member of their Police Department to Edgewater to serve as the Edgewater Chief of Police on a temporary basis, WITNESSETH, That in consideration of the promises and benefits which would accrue to the parties hereto in carrying out the terms and conditions of this Agreement, it is mutually understood and agreed as follows: 1. Lieutenant Edward Joseph Overman of the Altamonte Police Department will serve as the Chief of Police for Edgewater at a compensation of approxi- mately $2,755.00 per month plus accommodations and per diem for a period of ninety (90) days beginning on February 27, 1984. This appointment is revocable by either party on a thirty (30) day written notice. 2. Lieutenant Edward Joseph Overman will perform in conjunction with Edgewater City Clerk/Administrator with full powers and authorities all necessary and proper functions of this position. 3. Edgewater, with the approval of its insurance carrier, will hold Altamonte harmless for any liabilities arising as a result of any activities undertaken pursuant to this Agreement. 4. The Chief of Police will provide all necessary services required of this position, including, but not limited to, those functions as expressed by Chief William A. Liquori at a Special Meeting held on February 23, 1984.
