84-R-28RESOLUTION NO. 84-R-28 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGE - WATER, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM THE ROTARY CLUB OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, INC. TO CONSTRUCT AND DONATE A BUILDING ON PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF EDGEWATER FOR THE PURPOSE OF HOUSING THE MEMBERS OF THE EDGEWATER FIRE AND EMERGENCY RESCUE FORCE; REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Edgewater, Florida, Inc., a non-profit organization, wishes to contribute to the health and welfare of the general citizenry of the City of Edgewater, and WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Edgewater, Florida, Inc. is able and desirous to construct a building for the use and benefit of the City of Edgewater on property owned by the City of Edgewater, and WHEREAS, the building will be constructed in accordance with the attached plans and specifications, and WHEREAS, the building will be owned by the City of Edgewater with the intention that it will be used for housing the Edgewater Fire and Emergency Rescue Force in compliance with the desires of The Rotary Club of Edgewater, Florida, Inc. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. The City of Edgewater, Florida, hereby accepts the donation from The Rotary Club of Edgewater, Florida, Inc. which consists of a building to be erected on City -owned property adjoining Fire Station No. 1 at 1605 South Ridgewood Avenue, Edgewater, Florida, described as Lot 1, Edgewater Shores, Unit 1, per map in Map Book 8, Page 271, Public Records of Volusia County, Florida. SECTION 2. The building will be constructed in accordance with the attached construction plans and specifications provided therein. SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida recognizes the desire of The Rotary Club of Edgewater, Florida, Inc. that said building be utilized to house the Edgewater Fire and Emergency Rescue Force. SECTION 4. The appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to execute the necessary agreements to carry out the requirements of this resolution. SECTION 5. In the event the Edgewater Fire and Emergency Rescue Force is relocated to another facility, the new facility will be equal or better than the one donated. SECTION 6. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 7. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a meeting of said Council held on thel-dday of , 1984, and approved as provided by law.
