AN ORDINANCE ALLOWING REIMBURSEMENT
TO CITY COUNCILMEN FOR OUT-OF-POCKET
EXPENSES AND MILEAGE INCURRED IN
FURTHERANCE OF CITY BUSINESS; SETTING
THE AMOUNT OF OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES
REIMBURSABLE AND FIXING THE MILEAGE
RATE, PROVIDING THAT PRIOR TO BEING
REIMBURSED FOR OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES
AND MILEAGE, ANY COUNCILMAN MUST
PREPARE AND TURN IN TO THE CITY CLERK
A VOUCHER; FURTHER PROVIDING THAT ALL
PAYMENTS FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR OUT-OF-
POCKET EXPENSES AND FOR MILEAGE MUST
FIRST BE APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFOR.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That City Councilmen may be reimbursed
for out-of-pocket expenses incurred in furtherance of City
business, provided, however, that any Councilman desiring
to be reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses must first
prepare and turn in to the City Clerk a voucher setting
forth the amount of money expended, purpose for the money
expended and the nature of the City business; provided
further that no reimbursement shall be made to any City
Councilman for out-of-pocket expenses unless and until
the said voucher has been first approved by the City Council.
SECTION 2. That City Councilmen may be allowed as
reimbursement for mileage incurred on official business
outside of the City limits of the City of Edgewater, Florida
at a rate which shall be the same as the mileage allowed to
State Officiers and employees under Section 112.061, Florida
Statutes; provided further that any Councilman desiring to
be reimbursed for mileage must have used his own vehicle
and must prepare a voucher and submit the same to the City
Clerk setting forth the mileage and the date incurred and
the destination and the nature of the City business; provided
further that no reimbursement shall be allowed any Councilman
unless and until the said voucher has been first approved by
the City Council.
SECTION 3. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and approval
by the mayor
The above Ordinance was read in full and passed by
vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida
at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 19th
day of July A.D., 1971.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the requirement
of reading said Ordinance upon second reading was waived and
the said Ordinance was ordered put upon final passage.
Passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 19th
day of July A.D., 1971 and approved as provided by law; the
vote of said Council being as follows:
