689ORDINANCE NO, "-689 AN ORDINANCE SETTING FORTH MANDATORY AGE OF RETIREMENT FOR ALL FULL TIME OR PART-TIME EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, SETTING FORTH A REQUIREMENT AS TO THE MAXIMUM AGE THAT A FULL OR PART-TIME EMPLOYEE CAN BE EMPLOYED, REQUIRING PROOF OF AGE OF ANY EMPLOYEE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AND SETTING FORTH AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFOR. BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That any and all employees of the City of Edgewater, Florida, whether employed full time or part time, shall be required to retire from said employment upon attain- ing the age of seventy (70) years. SECTION 2. That no person shall be hired by the City of Edgewater, Florida, either as a full time or part time employee, if said employee has attained the age of sixty-five (65) years. SECTION 3. That the City Council shall have the right to require of any presently employed employee or any pros- pective employee, either full time or part time, that said employee furnish adequate proof of age to the City Council. SECTION 4. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 5. That this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and approval by the Mayor. The above Ordinance was read in full and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida as a regular meeting of said Council held on the 7th day of June A.D., 1971.
