AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE USE OF
INBOARD OR OUTBOARD MOTORS OR MOTORS
OF ANY TYPE ON BOATS OR WATERCRAFT ON
ANY LAKE, CANAL, DITCH OR BODY OF WATER
IN FLORIDA SHORES IN THE CITY OF EDGE -
WATER, FLORIDA, PROHIBITING THE STORING
OF OR LEAVING OF BOATS OR OTHER WATERCRAFT
UNATTENDED IN OR ON OR UPON THE SHORE OF
ANY LAKE, CANAL, DITCH OR BODY OF WATER
IN FLORIDA SHORES IN THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA, PROHIBITING THE ERECTION OR
CONSTRUCTION OF ANY FURTHER DOCKS OR
OTHER STRUCTURES UPON ANY LAKE, CANAL,
DITCH OR BODY OF WATER IN FLORIDA SHORES,
SETTING FORTH PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS
THEREOF AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREFOR.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the use of any inboard or outboard motor
or motor of any type upon any boat or other watercraft on any
lake, canal,ditch or body of water in Florida Shores in Edge-
water, Florida is hereby prohibited.
SECTION 2. That the storing of or leaving of any boat
or other watercraft unattended in or upon theshore of any
lake, canal, ditch, or body of water in Florida Shores in
Edgewater, Florida is hereby prohibited.
SECTION 3. That after the effective date of this Ordinance,
no docks or other structures may be constructed or erected by
anyone in or upon or over any lake, canal, ditch or body of
water in Florida Shores in Edgewater, Florida; provided how-
ever, that this provision shall not affect any existing docks
but provided that no additions or extensions are to be made
hereafter to any existing dock upon any lake, canal, ditch,
or body of water in Florida Shores in Edgewater, Florida.
All existing docks on the effective date of this Ordinance
shall hereafter be maintained in a good state of repair or
shall be subject to condemnation and removal by the City of
Edgewater, Florida.
SECTION 4. That any person, firm or corporation violating
any provision of Sections 1, 2 and 3 above shall, upon
conviction thereof, be subject to the penalties provided in

Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Edgewater, Florida.
SECTION 5. That all Ordinances or parts of
Ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 6. That this Ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and
approval by the Mayor.
The above Ordinance was read in full and passed by
vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida at a regular meeting of said Council held on
the 19th day of April A.D., 1971.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the
requirement of reading said Ordinance upon second read-
ing was waived and the Ordinance was ordered put upon
final passage.
Passed by vote of the City Council of the City of
Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting of said Council
held on the 19th day of April A.D., 1971, and approved
as provided by law; the vote of said Council being as
follows:
