638ORDINANCE NO. 678 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF WARD LaFRANCE TRUCK CORPORATION OF ELMIRA HEIGHTS, NEW YORK FOR A WARD LaFRANCE FIRE TRUCK FOR THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, MODEL P-73-1000, 1000 G.P.M. PUMP WITH 500 GALLON BOOSTER TANK AND FOR OTHER EQUIPMENT AS PER BID FOR THE SUM OF $18,430, REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS, PROVIDING A METHOD AND MANNER FOR PAYMENT OF SAID SUM, PROVIDING FOR POSSIBLE TRADE IN OF THE CITY'S OLD FIRE TRUCK, AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFOR. WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City Council, and the City Council being desirous of accepting one of the bids and rejecting all others, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That the bid of Ward LaFrance Truck Corporation of Elmira Heights, New York for a fire truck, Model P-73-1000, 1000 G.P.M. Pump with 500 gallon booster tank and other equipment as set forth in said bid, which is made a part hereof by reference, for the sum of Eighteen Thousand Four Hundred Thirty ($18,430.00) Dollars be and the same is hereby accepted. SECTION 2. That all other bids be and the same are hereby rejected. SECTION 3. That the said Ward LaFrance fire truck, Model P-73-1000, shall be paid for by payment of twenty five (25%) per cent down and the balance over a three (3) year period, with right of prepayment at any time on the part of the City without penalty therefor. SECTION 4. That the Mayor and City Clerk, on behalf of the City of Edgewater, Florida, be and they are hereby authorized to enter into any agreements or contracts for the financing of said fire truck with Ward LaFrance Truck Corporation, on behalf of the City of Edgewater, Florida. SECTION 5. That this bid is accepted upon the condition that the City shall have the right, if the City desires, to trade its present fire truck in to Ward LaFrance Truck Corporation for the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars, which is to reduce the balance owed by the City by said amount. SECTION 6. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 7. That this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and approval by the Mayor. The above Ordinance was read in full and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 20th day of October A.D., 1969. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the requirement of reading said Ordinance upon second reading was waived and the Ordinance was ordered put upon final passage.
