Paula Randant, Edgewater Farmers Market Manager: discussed if the Council would allow the Farmers Market to place signs in the right of way to allract more customers. Michael Itscond, 316 Pine Breeze Drive: congratulated the City on being the safest drivers in the state. David Paterson, 3026 Yule Tree Drive: discussed some dead trees that are located behind his property that he is concerned about and would like removed. 5. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS Mayor Ignasiak reported: attending the Liberty Village ground breaking on August 7th, the Budget Workshop on August 8th, the Rotary Club Meeting on August 23rd, the Lineman Rodeo on August 31st, visiting Edgewater and Indian River Elementary Schools on September 5th for the uniform giveaway, the County Round Table Meeting on September 10th. Councilwoman Power reported: attending the impact fee seminar, the TPO meeting and the backpack giveaway. Councilwoman Vogt reported:nothing at this time. Councilwoman O'Keefe reported.- attending the Relocation of Veteran Services on August 20th, the impact fee seminar on August 24th, the SEV Ethics meeting on August 28th, the County Round Table on August 29th, the Lineman Rodeo on August 31st and spoke on 106.9 about the City of Edgewater. City Clerk Nothing at this time. b. City Attorney On February 6, 2017an Edgewater Police macer was involved in a motor vehicle accident while driving an Edgewater Police Department pafrol car. What happened was apparently while driving, the officer dropped the microphone to his radio onto the floorboard. When he looked down to pick up the microphone he rear-ended another car that was driving in the same direction A lawsuit ensued, the injured parry Tracy Goodwin is claiming injuries to her neck and lower back with medical bills totaling $19,333 with a last wage claim of approximately $5,130. Right after the suit was filed our insurance company adjustor was able to work out a tentative settlement of the claim subject to City Council approval in the amount of$25,000. A motion was made by Councilwoman O'Keefe, second by Councilwoman Power, to approve the settlement offer for Tracy Goodwin. These vans were donated in 2008 and 2009 through DISTRTRIcrz the efforts of the county, cities, business owners and community sponsors. These vans have HEATHERPOST over 200,000 miles and need constant repair. It is time to replace them. DISTRICT4 Dr.FRED LOWRY Because our Veterans have made tremendous sacrifices to help our country,We are sure the DISTRICTS community will once again provide overwhelming support for this request. With more than GEORGE RECKTENWALD 50,000 veterans in Volusia County,the need for this transport services continues to grow. WTERIMCOUNTY MANAGER Frank T. Bruno, Jr. has been authorized to solicit donations for two replacement vans on behalf of the Volusia County Council.
