626ORDINANCE NO. 626
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5 OF
ORDINANCE NO. 538 RELATING TO THE
EXTENSION OF SEWER SERVICE BY ADDING
THERETO SUB -SECTION C WHICH SHALL
PROVIDE FOR THE EXTENSION OF SEWER
SERVICE OUTSIDE OF THE CORPORATE
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREFOR. -
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 538 be and the
same is hereby amended to add thereto Sub -Section C., which shall
read as follows:
C. When an extension of the sewage system is requested
by any person, firm or corporation residing outside of the
corporate limits of the City of Edgewater, Florida, then the
City Council shall have the power and authority to make said
extension upon whatever terms and conditions the City Council
shall determine, if it is determined by the City Council that
said extension will promote the public health, safety and welfare
and will be economically feasible for the City of Edgewater and
the citizens thereof; provided further howeverthat any said
extension of sewage service shall be done in compliance with
Chapter 180, Florida Statutes, as the same now exists or is
hereafter amended. Should any extension of sewer service be
provided beyond the corporate limits of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, irrespective of whether said service shall be extended
to any individual residence, group of residences, trailer parks,
motels, apartments, hotels or proposed subdivisions, then the
rate to be charged for said service shall be not less than the
prevailing rate charged for the particular classification within
the corporate limits, plus 100% thereof. Any and all costs of
extending the City sewage system to the person, firm or corpora-
tion requesting the same shall be done solely at the expense of
said person, firm or corporation requesting said extension and the
plans of any sewage system to which the City sewer lines shall be
extended shall be first approved by the City Engineer prior to
making connection to the City sewage system.

SECTION 2. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and
approval by the Mayor.
The above Ordinance was read in full and passed by
vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida
at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 17th day
of March A.D., 1969.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the
requirement of reading said Ordinance upon second reading
was waived and the Ordinance was ordered put upon final
passage.
Passed by vote of the City Council of the City of
Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting of said Council
held on the 17th day of March A.D., 1969, and approved as
provided by law, the vote of said Council upon roll call
