AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE
No. 144, REQUIRING PERMITS FOR INSTALLATION
OF ELECTRICAL WIRING AND FIXTURES, ADOPTING A
FEE SCHEDULE FOR SUCH PERMITS AND SETTING
FORTH AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 144 of the code
of Edgewater, Florida be and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows:
Section 2. Before any permit is issued for the installa-
tion or alteration of any electrical wiring, device or equipment,
the Master Electrician making application for such permit shall
pay to the City Clerk a fee in such amount as specified below.
The following installation fees are hereby established and shall
apply to all electrical wiring and fixture installation for
lighting, fixed appliances and electric motors within the
corporate limits of the City of Edgewater, Florida. No person,
firm or corporation shall do or cause to have done any electrical
wiring or fixture installation within the corporate limits
without first having obtained a permit from the City Clerk to
do so.
1. New or remodeling residences and duplexes, new
or remodeling apartments, rooming houses and hotels,
rewiring old residences, apartments, rooming houses
and hotels, each shall be One Dollar and Fifty Cents
($1.50), per room or bath.
2. Private Swimming Pools: Electrical inspection fee
shall be Five Dollars ($5.00) and all accessories.
3• Commercial Swimming Pools: Electrical Inspection
fee shall be Ten Dollars (410.00) plus motors.
4. Mobile Homes in Parks - $5.00
Private Owned mobile homes - 40.00.
5. Business, offices, theaters and public buildings,
Fifty Cents (50¢) per 100 square fee of all available
floor space. Ballast and transformers Twenty Five
Cents (25¢) additional for each, up to 50 fixtures,
then Ten Cents (10¢) each thereafter.
6. Extras, Additions and alterations and repairs to
ezTating wiring systems, each outlet with fixture,
switch or receptacle, Twenty Cents (20¢); this in
no way applies to new constructions.
7. Motors, for each electrical motor of one-half U )
horsepower or less, Fifty Cents(50�); for ch
electrical motor of over one-half (Q) horse power
and not over five (5) horsepower, One Dol 1.00);
for each electrical motor of cW& horsepower,

One Dollar and Fifty Cents ($1.50); for each
"High Potential" motor, operating at a potential
of over 550 volts (regardless of horsepower),
Three Dollars ($3.00).
8. Trancformers, for each transformer where the primary
exceeds 230 volts One Dollar (41.00), excluding
flnnrescent Ballast or transformers.
9. All cooking and heating devices, for each permanently
connected electrical cooker or heating device consuming
more than 600 watts of energy One Dollar ($1.00).
10. All Neon and Electrical Signs: All permits for signs
shall be Five Dollars ($5.00) plus an additional charge
of One Dollar ($1.00) for each transformer or Ballast,
One Dollar ($1.00) for each Twenty (20) fee or fraction
thereof of tubing plus One Dollar ($1.00) for each
transformer -- lamps, Ten Cents (YO¢) per socket,
One Dollar ($1.00) for flashers, One Dollar and Fifty
Cents ($1.50) for service.
11. NO PERMIT shall be issued for fee of less than Two
Dollars and Fifty Cents ($2.50).
12. TEMPORARY SERVICE POLES, shall be One Dollar and Fifty
Cents ($1.50).
Section 2. That all parts of Ordinance No. 144 shall remain
in full force and effect except as herein amended.
Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby rescinded.
Section 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
The above Ordinance was read in full and passed by vote of the
City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular
meeting of said Council held on the 5th day of August A. D.,1968.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the requirement
of reading said Ordinance upon second reading was waived and
the Ordinance was ordered put upon final passage.
Passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida at a regular meeting of said Council held on the
5* day of August A.D., 1968, and approved as provided by law;
the vote of said Council upon roll call being as follows:
