542ORDINANCE NO. 542 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF MCMAHAN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC., DELAND, FLORIDA FOR CHLORINE LINE IMPROVEMENT OF THE WATER PLANT OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,625. WHEREAS, the City of Edgewater, Florida, has, in compliance with the charter of said city, caused to be advertised bids for improvements to the chlorine lines of the water plant of the City of Edgewater, Florida, and WHEREAS, competitive bids were received at the regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council held on April 17, 1967 and were read at that time, and WHEREAS, the bid of McMahan Construction Company, Inc., Deland, Florida for the said chlorine line improvements was the apparent low bidder with a bid in the amount of $3,625, a proper bond form being attached to the said bid, and WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of accepting the said bid and awarding the contract to the said McMahan Construction Company, Inc. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the bid of McMahan Construction Company, Inc., Deland, Florida, for chlorine line improvements of the water plant of the City of Edgewater, Florida in the amount of $3,625 be and the same is hereby approved and accepted, and the said contract for doing and performing the said work and services be and the same is hereby awarded to McMahan Construction Company, Inc. Section 2. That all other bids received by the City of Edgewater, Florida for the chlorine line improvements to the water plant be and the same are hereby rejected. Section 3. That the Vice Mayor and the City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to execute any and all contract documents by and between the said McMahan Construction Company, Inc. and the City of Edgewater, Florida, pursuant to the said bid. Section 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 5. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the Vice Mayor. The above ordinance was read in full and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a special meeting of said Council held on April 21, 1967, pursuant to notice thereof. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the requirement of reading said ordinance upon second reading was waived and the ordinance was ordered put upon final passage.
