448T h. C C) ORDINANCE NO. 448 AN ORDINANCE RE -DEFINING THE FOUR VOTING DISTRICTS OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA. BE IT ENACTED by the people of the City of Edgewater, Florida:1 SECTION 1. This Ordinance is enacted pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 27532, Laws of Florida, Special Acts of 1951, as amended, and other applicable provisions of law. SECTION 2. It is hereby found, ascertained and determined that the four voting districts in the City of Edgewater, Florida, as described in Section 8 of Chapter 27532, Laws of Florida, Special Acts of 1951, as amended, being the Charter of the City of Edgewater, Florida, are hereby re -defined and described as follows: A. Voting District One shall be the area described as: Beginning at the intersection of the center line of the Gabardy Canal, or South Canal, and the Westerly right-of-way line of the Intercoastal Waterway; thence Southerly along the Westerly right-of-way line of said Inter - coastal Waterway to a point opposite the center line of Park Avenue extended; thence Westerly along the center line of Park Avenue extended and Park Avenue to the West corporate limits; thence Northerly along the Westerly corporate limits to the center line of the Gabardy, or South Canal; thence Easterly along the center line of said Gabardy, or South Canal, to the Point of Beginning. B. Voting District Two shall be the area described as: Beginning at the point of intersection of the Westerly right- pf-w�y line of the Intercoastal Waterway and the center line of Park Avenue extended, thence Southerly along the Westerly right-of-way line of said Intercoastal Waterway to the point of intersection of the center line of New Hampshire Street extended; thence Westerly along the center line of New Hampshire Street extended and New Hampshire Street to the center line of U. S. Highway No. 1; thence Westerly in a straight line to the point of inter- section at the center line of the Florida East Coast Railroad and Alice Street; thence Westerly along the center line of Alice Street and Alice Street extended #7'p to the West corporate limits; thence Northerly and Westerly along the West corporate limits to the center line of Park Avenue; thence Easterly along the center line of Park Avenue and Park Avenue extended to the Point of Beginning. C. Voting District Three shall be the area described as: Beginning at the point of intersection of the Westerly right- of-way line of the Intercoastal Waterway and the center line of New Hampshire Street extended; thence Southerly along the Westerly right-of-way line of the Intercoastal Waterway to the center line of Indian River Boulevard extended; thence Westerly along the center line of Indian River Boulevard extended and Indian River Boulevard to the West corporate limits; thence Northerly and Easterly along the West corporate limits to the center line of Alice Street extended; thence Easterly along the center line of Alice Street extended and Alice Street to the center line of the Florida East Coast Railroad; thence Easterly in a straight line to the point of intersection of the center line of U. S. Highway No. 1 and New Hampshire Street; thence Easterly along the center line of New Hampshire Street and New Hampshire Street extended to the Point of Beginning. D. Voting District Four shall be the area described as: All that area within the corporate limits, lying South of the following described line: Beginning at the point of intersection of the Westerly right-of-way line of the Intercoastal Waterway and Indian River Boulevard extended; thence Westerly along the center line of Indian River Boulevard extended and Indian River Boulevard to the Westerly corporate limits. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. SECTION 4. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed. Page 2. C� The above Ordinance was read in full and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at the regular meeting of said Council held on September 8, 1965. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the requirement of reading said Ordinance upon second reading was waived and the Ordinance was ordered put upon final passage.
