AN ORDINANCE REQUESTING BIDS ON CLEANING CANALS
IN FLORIDA SHORES, SUBDIVISION OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA. ADOPTED
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA-
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Edge-
water, Florida, does hereby direct the City Clerk to advertise,
in a newspaper of general circulation in Volusia County, Florida,
for ten days, two insertions,a week apart only being necessary,
for bids for cleaning canals in Florida Shores Subdivision,of
Edgewater, Florida; said notice for bids to be substantially
in the following form, to -wit:
NOTICE FOR BIDS ON CLEANING CANALS
IN FLORIDA SHORES,SUBDIVISION OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA
Furnish all necessary dredging equipment to remove
all vegetation from approximately 20 miles of
drainage canals including the removal of sand which
has washed in said canals to the flow lines of
canals. All materials removed from the canals will
be handled in the following manner; Vegetation,
loam or sand can be piled on sides of canals to dry
for a few days; then such piles will be leveled out
or trucked to places specified by the City of Edge-
water Inspector. The City of Edgewater will furnish
an Inspector. The trucking of sand from said canals
will be quoted by the hour. A total firm bid of
cleaning canals. Contractors bidding must have lia-
bility and workmen's compensation insurance. The
vegetation on the banks of canals to be cut but not
dredged out.
Councilman Drury will be glad to take any contractor
on a tour of said canals before submitting bids.
Sealed bids will be received at the City of Edgewater,
at the office of the City Clerk until 4:00 P. M.,
June 13th, 1963.
The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or
all bids. Any bid received after the time and date
specified will not be considered.
All bids will be sealed and addressed to the Mayor,
City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, and be
plainly marked on the outside of the envelope
"BID ON CLEANING CANALS IN FLORIDA SHORES, SUB-
DIVISION OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA".
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage.
SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordi-
nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby re-
pealed.
The above ordinance was read in full and passed by
vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida,
at a meeting of said Council held on the 24th day of May,
A. D. 1963.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the
requirement of reading said ordinance upon second reading
was waived and the ordinance was ordered put upon final
passage.
Passed by vote of the City Council of the City of
Edgewater, Florida, at a meeting of said Council held the
24th day of May, A. D. 1963, and approved as provided by
law; the vote of said Council on roll call being as follows:
