252ORDINANCE NO. 252 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 of ORDINANCE NO. 20 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE RATES FOR WAT CONSUMED FROM THE WATER SUPPLY TREATMENT AND DIS- TRIBUTION SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA" BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 203 is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 1. That the following rate schedule be and the same hereby is adopted to provide for rates to be charged for water consumed from the water supply treatment and distribu- tion system of the City of Edgewater, Florida, said amendment being effective as of November 1, 1959: METERS. A meter shall be installed in the water connec- tion to each building or outlet (except fire hydrants) whether public or private. BILLS. Bills for water shall be rendered monthly. If any bill shall not be paid within ten days following the original date of billing, an additional charge of ten per cent of the amount of such bill shall be added there- to. If any bill shall not be paid within thirty days from the original date of billing, service shall be dis- continued. In the event service is discontinued for nonpayment of bills, the premises shall be disconnected from the waterworks system of the city. MINIMUM MONTHLY BILL. Each monthly bill shall be rendered for an amount not less than $2.50 which will allow the use of three thousand gal Ions of water per month. METER RATE. The following meter rate shall be applicable to all retail quantities of water in excess of that allowed under the minimum bill as shown by monthly meter readings to have been delivered: Monthly usage (gals.) Over 3000 gallons Rate $0.35 per 1000 gallons or portion thereof FIRE PROTECTION QiARGE. The City shall pay not less than 0 per year per hydrant to the credit of the water utility for public fire protection service. MINIMUM DEPOSITS. The following minimum deposit shall e rebeqqu reed for each meter, which deposit will bear no interest and will remain with the water utility as long as the consumer continues to take water: -;. r Meter size Minimum deposit 3/4" $10.00 in 17.50 1 }" 25.00 2" 35.00 3" 50.00 100.00 kit " 200.00 CONNECTION CHARGES. There shall be no charge for any con- nection made to t e system if such connection is made at the same time as the construction of distribution mains at the location of the connection. If, however, any connection is required after construction of the distribution mains at the location of the connection, then the city will provide materials and labor to bring the service line to the owner's property line, and the following minimum connection charge shall apply: Meter size Minimum Connection Charce 3/4" $50.00 1" 90.00- If" 115.00 2" 150.00 3" 200.00 4" 250.00 V 350.00 The actual connection charge may be greater than said minimum charge, if the actual cost to the City of Edgewater is greater than the charges set forth. RE -CONNECTION CHARGE. There shall be a charge of $5.00 for resetting any meter which shall have been removed by the C igc SECTION P. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same hereby are repealed. SECTION 3. That this ordinance take effect immediately upon Its passage and approval of the Mayor. The above ordinance was read in full and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at the regular meeting held November 16, 1959. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the requirement of reading said ordinance upon second reading was waived and the ordinance was ordered put upon final passage.
