VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA. TILE SIEZURE, CONFISCATION,
AIM CONDEMNATION AND DESTRUCTION FOR FOOD FURPOSES
OF UNINSPECTED, DISEASED, UNSOUND OR OTHEP&JSE UNFIT

DE IT ENACTED BY THE YiCPLE OF THE CITY OF EDG0,ATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to offer for sale or
to sell for use as human food within the limits of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, the meat or meat food products of any animal unless the meat or
meat food products bear the official impress tag or mark of the U. S. Depart-
ment of Agriculture, Bureau of Anima'_ Industry, or the official impress tag
or m k of the Livestock Board of the State of Florida, showing the inspection
and approval by any one of these departments of such meat or meat food products
for human food.
Section 2. It shall be unlarful for any person to have, keen, sell, or
expose for sale or with intent to sell for use as human food within the limits
of the City of Edgewater, Florida, the meat or meat food products manufactured
in whole or in part from the meat of any animal unless said meat or meat food
products bear the official impress tag or mark of inspection of either the U.S.
Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Animal Industry, or the Livestock Hoard
of the State of Florida, showing the inspection and approval by any one of
these denartments of such meat and neat food products for human food.
Section 3. It shall be the duty of the Health Officer, or his duly
qualified assistants, to make regular inspections of all establishments pre-
paring and handling meat or meat food products for human consumption. It
shall also be the duty of the Health Officer to seize, condemn and destroy any
meat or meat food products unfit for human consumption or in direct violation
of any of the provisions of this Act.
Section 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance
shall, upon conviction before the Municipal Court, be punished by a fine of not
more than One Hundred Dollars (;'100.00) or be imprisoned not exceeding Sixty
(00) Days, and each days failure to comply with the provisions of this Ordinance
and the violation of the terms thereof shall constitute a distinct and separate
offense and be punishable as such.
Section 5 That all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict ii.th
the terms of this Ordinance, are hereby repealed, but all Ordinances and parts
of Ordinances regulating the sale of meat or meat food products and relating to
health and sanitation and kindred subjects and not in conflict herewith are re-
tained in full force and effect and shall be deemed as summlative of this
Ordinance.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its
passage and approval of the Mayor.
The above Ordinance was read in full and passed by vote of the City
Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular meeting on the 3rd
day of November, A. D. 1958.

Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the re-
quirement of reading said ordinance upon second reading was waived and
the ordinance was put upon final passage.
Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater
Florida, at a regular meeting of said council held on the 3rd day of
November, A. D. 1958, and approved as provided by law, the vote of said
council on roll call being as follows:
