167ORDINANCE NO. 167
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7 (c) (1) (b)
OF ORDINANCE NO. 8 OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Section 7 (c) (1) (b) of Ordinance No. 8 of the
Edgewater, as amended by Ordinance No. 9 of the City of Edgewater�7���
hereby amended to read as follows, to —wit:
"Light manufacturing as hereinbefore defined in this Ordi—
nance and also light manufacturing of goods intended for
wholesale purposes. Retail store, public garage, filling
or service station, office, business or vocational school,
bank, assembly hall and theatres, commercial green house,
billiard rooms, gymnasium or athletic establishment, bowl—
ing alley, show shop, barber shop or beauty parlor, florist
shop, confectionery, butcher shop, hand bakery, shop of a
plumber, electrician or similar, tradesman, all provided
that in the permitted stores or shops no merchandise shall
be carried other than that intended to be sold or retailed
on the premises; that only electric or other noiseless,
smokeless or odorless motive power be used for operating
any machinery used incidentally to a permitted use. Light
manufacturing may be prohibited if the City Council finds
from the nature of each application that the same will con—
stitute a nuisance, but each application for light manufao—
turing shall be considered on its own merits with respect
to the qualities of the particular manufacturing business
to be carried on."
Section 2: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith
be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 3: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its pas—
sage and approval by the Mayor.
The above Ordinance was read in full and passed by the vote of the City

Council of the, City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular meeting held
on the 5th day of August, A. D. 1957.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the requirement of reading
said Ordinance upon second reading was waived, and the Ordinance was
ordered put upon final passage.
Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida,
at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 5th day of August,
A. D. 1957, and approved as provided by law, the vote of said Council
on roll call being as follows:
