AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE
OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, TO REGULATE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE STREETS WITHIN
THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, AND PROVIDING Pffi9ALTIES
FOR VIOLATION OF SAID P.EGULATIONB.
WHEREAS, In the City of Edgewater, Florida, parking of
on the streets has become conjested and a danger to life and property
and an impediment to the flow of traffic, and in order to alleviate
said situation, now therefore,
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The Chief of Police of the City of Edgewater shall have
the authority to make regulations limiting the time and prescribing
the :canner of parking of motor vehicles on the streets in the City
of Edgewater as circumstances and emergencies may require.
Section 2:

streets on the part of said

which said Chief of Police may choose to regulate.
Section 3: Anyone violating any regulation made by the Chief of
Police concerning illegal parking either as to the manner or time,
shall upon conviction in Municipal Court be fined not more than

$10.00 or imprisoned for not more than 36 days, or both, in the dis—
cretion of the Municipal Judge.
Section 4: Before making any regulations, the Chief of Police shall
determine that a traffic hazard exists due to unregulated parking
and that regulated parking will alleviate said condition.
Section 5: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its
passage and approval by the Hayor.
Section 6: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
be, and the same are hereby repealed.
The above ordinance was read in full and passed by the vote of the

City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular meeting
on the 3rd day of December, A. D. 1956.
Upon :notion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the require-
ment of reading said ordinance upon second reading was waived and
the ordinance was ordered put upon final passage.
Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 3rd day of
December, A. D., 1956, and approved as provided by law, the vote
of said Council on roll call being as follows:
